Fallout is a single player role-playing game developed by Interplay Entertainment.

Story[edit]

Fallout takes place after the Great War, which destroyed much of the United States. Nations were in conflict for control of the last remaining oil reserves on the planet which resulted in China invading Alaska, the United States annexing Canada, and the dissolution of the European Commonwealth and United Nations.

In response to the growing turmoil, large underground fallout shelters known as vaults were constructed and marketed to citizens in the United States. You play as an inhabitant of Vault 13, who has been sent out into the wasteland to find a replacement water purification chip for the vault. If the Vault Dweller is not successful, the vault will no longer be able to sustain its population.

Gameplay[edit]

It provides several means to solve individual problems, features the ability to create characters, and allows replaying the game due to its non-linear design. While the core plot is linear and must be completed in order to finish the game, players have the freedom to choose how to do so. Players can elect their own dialog options and make their own decisions, choosing when and where to get involved or when not to.
