Pokémon Diamond and Pearl/Route 214

Route 214 connects Veilstone City to Valor Lakefront. It has the Maniac Tunnel on the left path and a few trainers and items in it.

As you are going down, you will find Psychic Abigail at the end of the fence line. Behind Abigail is a berry patch with a Cheri Berry, a Sitrus Berry, a Chesto Berry and a Pomeg Berry. Stay to the right along the tree lines and go down to find an X Sp. Def (DP). Go back up and take either of the two paths to find PI Carlos and Collector Brady. Continue going down and you will find Beauty Devon. Above Devon in the trees is a hidden Honey (DP). Continue going down and you will find Psychic Mitchell. To the left of Mitchell in the grass is a bare spot that has a hidden Heart Scale. Go back out and continue going down until you run into Collector Douglas. Go above the sign to find a Big Root then head back down and go to the grass patch with the Honey tree to find a Max Potion (DP). Now head up onto the mountain and you'll find Ruin Maniac Hunter. Continue going up then take the stairs down to find Collector Jamal and in the bottom right corner of the grass in a bare spot is a hidden TinyMushroom (DP). Go back and head up both stairs to find Ruin Maniac Bryan. Stay along the mountain and use Rock Smash and continue going up until you hit the end of the mountain to find the Maniac Tunnel. Once done with the Maniac Tunnel go back down and enter Valor Lakefront.

Once you have Surf, there is a Rare Candy across the water in the top right corner of the route.

Maniac Tunnel

A Ruin Maniac is digging away in the mountain. Pick up TM28 Dig behind the rocks at the entrance and then talk to him. He proposes a contest where you catch Unown and he digs away. Catch 10 different kinds of Unown to find the tunnel much longer, and catch all 26 to discover he has plunged through into Solaceon Town and into a room with the last two Unown, ! and ?. Also when you catch 10-25 and 26 different kinds of Unowns the encounter rate for Hippopotas goes up. It is best to come here after you catch the 26 different kinds of Unown in Solaceon Ruins
